2010 MCFA Horse Show

At the January 2010 meeting of the Madison County Fair Executive Board a motion was made and passed to bring back the Open Horse Show to the Madison County Fair as part of the fair week activities. The fair board is so glad that this event has been brought back to the Madison County Fair after a long hiatus. Fair board members have been talking to members of the "horse community" for years getting support for such an event. Horse show superintendant Scott Schuetz feels that the show should be a great one. "We have the sanctioning support of the ApHC, and APHA," Schuetz said and went on to say " I sent out donation letters to horse clubs and businesses all over Madison County asking for financial support and that same week began to receive calls and donations.  With all the state wide cutbacks we are pleased that we will be able to offer $4966.00 in premium money to the exhibitors. The show will be held on Saturday, July 31, 2010 at10am in the lower livestock area, which is currently under construction but will be completed by fair week. The fair has historically closed on Friday, but this year the fair will run one day longer in order to be able to host the horse show. "With this show being sanctioned by so many top organizations I have been told that we could see upwards of 75 speed horses alone, this would be a victorious return to the Madison County Fair," Schuetz said. Schuetz is looking for all kinds of support and exhibitors.
